Renaming the Silverman Gallery
The Cal State LA Fine Arts Gallery was renamed as the Ronald H. Silverman Fine Arts Gallery in 2019. Professor Ron Silverman was a Cal State LA alumnus; upon graduation in 1955, he began teaching at Cal State LA and, after also serving as department chair, retired as Professor Emeritus of Art in 1988. Professor Silverman was an internationally respected teacher of art education and was among the earliest academicians in the U.S. to develop an official art education curriculum. The Department of Art also offers a scholarship named after Professor Silverman.
All exhibitions and events are open to the public. Director of the Cal State LA’s Ronald H. Silverman Fine Arts Gallery, Dr. Mika Cho (Professor of Art) and the gallery student staff welcome and cordially invite all of you to its exhibitions and events.
